When I heard about this compition, I immediately thought about 3 major elements I wanted to incorporate. First, I knew that I for sure needed to add a map/outline of Israel. I felt it was important since I knew the poster was going to be about Israel and it is the one big symbol we all know and love. Next, I wanted to have words all about Israel covering the poster. I've chosen words that I feel discribe Israel and words of inventions from Israel that impact everyone's lives. Finally, I wanted some sort of abstract element. Personally, I feel when something is too symetrical or "perfect" it feels forced. Adding the abstarct water coulor backround felt like my way to show the "handmadeness" of it. Israel is, of couse, a massive part to the Jewish world. It's where all of our history came from and where all of our ancestors came from. Although, it's not just important to Jewish people. It might be a small part of the world size-wise, but without it, our world would be nothing like what it is today. Israel has made many inventions we use every day such as Wayze, cherry tomatoes, and a life changing technology (as I mentioned in my poster). Israel is our home, and it's just what we need. My hope for my poster is that anyone who sees it can realize how great israel is. I want people to know what it means to me and Jews around the world and how much Israel has brought to their lives without even knowing it. I don't think any 1 poster inspired me to make what I made. It was a combination of all of them. I enjoyed the general vibe of all of the primary sources, and all of the map posters.
