The major element chosen to be incorporated in this poster is the full circle nature of a trip to Israel. We realized that our home was both here, in New York City, but also in Israel. When you visit Israel, you always leave something of yourself with you there, while also bringing something back home with you. There is no place in the world that connects us like that! Israel is at the centerpiece of our Jewish story. It's the place we face to pray, the place we study, and the place that connects our people. Right now in New York, we're in an interesting place where our community is both being targeted by the outside and coming together on the inside. The message we want to convey is that we need Israel so that we can be openly Jewish here in NYC, and that is currently being threatened. We won't stand for it and will fight hate in all forms. This is why Israel is so important and is part of our full circle. We are saying that Israel will forever be our home even if we are home in New York. We see that it's a full circle that we bring ourselves to Israel, and all that comes with us, and it's the same the other way, Israel follows us back home. It's a cycle of love. The primary source that gave us inspiration is the 8th Yom Ha'atzmaut Poster, an El Al ad with the flags of Israel and Egypt for the idea of a place connecting two countries. And we were also inspired by the International Cooperation Year stamp and Eights Chanukah Candle posters for the idea of the circle connecting people.
