This is a poster entitled "The Clock of Israel." It features a clock-themed poster containing the shape of Israel and other symbols surrounding it that depict different facets of life in Israel, such as politics, the military, urban life, religion, culture, and ordinary day-to-day activities like eating and shopping. There is also a yellow ribbon and the Waze logo on the poster, which may be meant to represent contemporary events. The poster attempts to answer the question, "What is Israel's position in the Jewish world?" by emphasizing the importance of Israel as the main center for the Jewish people, their culture, and lifestyle. Using the clock design in the poster implies that Israel remains busy in its work all the time. Different types of images such as governmental, religious, military, and cultural aspects are used to illustrate Israel's impact on Jews from all over the world. This makes Israel the central point for the Jewish nation. Thus, the poster clearly highlights the significance of Israel as the heartland for the Jewish people. This poster shows how important Israel is in terms of its relevance to the lives of Jews across the globe, impacting their lives by affecting culture and even identity. The use of a clock indicates how Israel is always in action, bringing together all the different sectors in society, such as religion and governance. The one primary source at the National Library of Israel that sparked our creativity for our poster was that of visual documentation of the historical changes in the state of Israel. We used such documentation to see how the state of Israel had changed through political, cultural, and social perspectives, which motivated us to use a clock as an icon representing perpetual motion.
