I used a blue and white background like the colors of the Israeli flag. I also included the phrase “This is only the beginning,” which means we never give up. I added two doves of peace, with the Israeli flag in the center, and finally I wrote “Am Israel Chai” with the number 78 next to it. In my poster, I used a background of sea and sky, representing the colors of the Israeli flag. I also added blue and white balloons to represent Israel, and especially the 78 years it has celebrated this year. Israel’s birthday is called Yom Ha’atzmaut, when the whole country celebrates 78 years in the land given to them by Hashem. The message I want to convey is one of strength and unity for Israel and the Jewish people. In class, we saw many old advertising posters, postage stamps, and cartisei bracha (greeting cards) from the archives of the National Library of Israel, which inspired me.
