The main things I put in my drawing are Jewish symbols and traditions that I think are really cool. I used them as my inspiration, so I drew everything by hand and then colored them in with my markers to make them pop! I actually split my work into three different parts to explain my ideas. First, I drew a group of friends arriving in Israel because I feel like Israel is the true home for all Jewish people. The second part is a bookshelf full of Jewish symbols, which shows how Israel helps shape my own history. Finally, I drew a Shabbat table to show the values that Israel brings into my daily life. The message of my work is that every Jew is always welcome in Israel. I also wanted to show that even if you live far away, you can still feel super connected to the country. I actually did this whole project without using the National Library of Israel for inspiration. I just felt like my own ideas worked really well for what I wanted to show, so I stuck with those!
